More Breast Cancer Awareness Cards

It's late at night and I am so tired.  I just had to finish making some more Breast cancer awareness cards.  I could only make 2 for now.  I'll probably make more over the weekend.  I think next year I'm going to start out earlier making BCA Cards because its becoming a custom and a caring gesture to mail them out to friends and family members that are experiencing or are a survivor of breast cancer.  I think this is amazing what a card can do for someone going through this terrible disease.
Our family has been blessed.  I'm saying gratefully, not boasting, that none of my 3 sisters, my mother or I have experienced this disease.  I thank God everyday for that.  I pray that my cards will make a difference in someone's life.

Well it's time for me to turn in because I have a busy week-end.

Love and piece,  Goodnight!

Mojo Monday 260

This is my entry for http://mojomonday.blogspot.com  Monday's sketch.  I decided to make the round card, as you can see.  It was a little more challenging than a square card.  I'm pleased with the way it turned out.

Challenge #24- Breast Cancer Awareness

Hello everyone.  I decided to do the JDE Inks and Such Challenge on his blog site: http://jacksonsdigitalexpressions.blogspot.com .  It is such a worthy attempt to bring Breast Cancer out to the light and to help raise money. I appreciate all that they are doing.  This my little attempt to do what I can:

Outlawz challenge: 9/24

Monday's Greetings Card challenge at http://www.outlawzchallenges.ning.com theme is "The Blue Bird of Happiness."

Here is my entry:

Cloth Badges

Okay Ladies for those who don't know, I'm a Sewer/Quilter, also.  So todays project will probably be boring to the paper artist out there that view my blog.  I'm going to diverse for a minute!
I'm making a Cloth Badge for each of my Craft Club members (RAK of Chicago), to wear at our monthly meetings.
The sewers out there know this is called Machine Paper Piecing.
They will be able to embellish them anyway they want, to their hearts desire.  The more outrages, the better. We have some talented women in our club.
They must wear their badges at our meetings in order to qualify for the raffle gift.
I can't wait to see how these ladies are going to bling up their little badges.  So don't judge them now.  I'll definitely photograph the finish products.

Thanks ladies for stopping by!

Girlfriends Relay challenge #4

Hi everybody!!! Hope you got some rest this week-end.  I DID NOT!!! Nobody's fault but my own.  I am so anal to the point that I'm not satisfied until all my challenges are done and on time.

Here's my entry for the Girlfriends Relay challenge at http://www.scrapsofcolor.ning.com.
The character is Toni Childs and she attended UCLA with Joan.  I wanted to show her caring single- mother side because she is known for her self-indulgent personality.

Breast Cancer Awareness ATC's

In honor of  Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I made a total of 8 ATC's for the Breast Cancer Awareness Give and for the  Trade-it-Tuesday October ATC Swap at http://www.scrapsofcolor.com.
I did not feel creative enough to make them all different, so I made them almost all the same, with some minor variations.
5 of them will be sent to Chauntelle on SOC to be given to the ladies and families that are currently fighting and winning the battle of Breast Cancer.
The remaining 3 will be entered in the Trade-it-Tuesday Oct. Swap.
I pray that these ATC's will lift their spirits, brighten their day and let them know they are not forgotten.

-ATC base made from cereal box cut  to 2.5 x 3.5 sizes

ALL ABOUT BOYS!!! Stamp TV Challenge

I felt this challenge was right up my alley because there are nothing but boys in our family.  My mother has 4 daughters with a total of 8 grandchildren.  Only one of them is a girl.  Then our children (sons) started having sons with very few girls scattered in.  So I know all aout BOYS!  Here's my entry for Stamp TV's challenge:

Classy Card Sketch Challenge 5

Here's my entry for Classygirl's Sketch challenge #5:

Other Than Cards

I love doing just about anything that involves paper because usually I receive immediate gratification.  The time involved in making my sewing /quilting projects can vary.  Sometimes it can take up to a month or more when I'm making quilts.  Paper arts have become my priority lately.

On my blog, you will see a variety of handmade items, mostly projects made with some form of paper.

Last week I made this Inspirational Message Calender.  Each month there is a different verse or quote to help inspire you.  The frame was made out of cereal boxes covered with card stock.  "Ladies save your cereal and cracker boxes."  The boxes are made out of card board and work very well in your album projects or anything requires you to have a stiff firm surface.

I also took the time to make some coupon or recipe holders.  The covers are made out of a tan colored, weaved-pattern Wallpaper.  My girfriend bought alot of it (very cheap) from an Estate sale and it's easy to work with.  Don't know exactly what I want to do with them.  Might try to sale them at a Craft Show.

Thanks for visiting.

Girlfriends Relay Challenge #3

Hello everyone, how was your weekend?  I see some ladies have tuned in.  You are so welcome and appreciated.
Well I was able to make it through with this cold and all.  I was determined not to let it stop me.  Took some cold medicine and nose drops and kept on going.
I completed my Girfriend Relay Challenge #3 on http://scrapsofcolor.ning.com.  I'm enjoying making masculine cards.  I find you can add bling to them and they don't look frilly.
Well let me get back  to making some more projects.  Since I got my blog it encourages me to post more.
Leave a comment if you like.  Talk with you soon!

Challenge #22 Clean & Simple-Anything goes

Hi Viewers,  How was your day?  Well I have been sick all day with a cold I caught from my man.  I thought I was safe but the symptoms started a few days ago, then got worst.  I have been on the sofa most of the day.  I just had to get off of that sofa and get something done, so I decided to do an easy simple card.  I went over to www.jacksonsdigitalexpressions.blogspot.com  and decided to do Challenge #22 Clean and Simple-Anything goes.  I used an image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

I was kinda surprised.  I thought is was going to be quick and easy.  I had to keep remembering to keep it clean and simple and not add alot of embellishments.  That would defeat the hold purpose of the project.  It's not one of my best but considering how I feel, it's okay.

I think I fixed my word verification, so comments can come thru without a problem.  We shall see!  Bye,Bye!

Fabric Tote Bags

Oh I forgot to add, that those Fabric Tote Bags were not my idea.  I copied them from a site I saw on the internet.  I thought they were adorable.

Craft Show "Art in the Park"

Good afternoon to all my viewers. LOL (I'm laughing because I only have 1 at this time and she's an Angel)  I'm preparing for a weekend Craft Show in Portage Park that my craft club, RAK of Chgo., participates in, occasionally.  This time I'm into making fabric Tote Bags, of all kinds.

The pictures show the bags I made for little girls that are into Dance/Ballet or Tumbling.  They can carry their leotards and shoes in them to their studios.  I've made alot more different kinds, but haven't photograph them yet

We, members of RAK of Chgo., are expected to contribute our own handmade paper carrying bags that are given to the customers to carry their purchases in, when they buy from us.  Below is a sample of how mine will be looking.
I had ordered a while ago about 500 of these white paper bags (for what reason, I don't know) and thought this would be a great opportunity to utilize them and dress them up.  I think they are cute!  What do you think?  I hope my blog receives comments.  I was told there is a problem with leaving comments.  Like I said before, I'm new at this.  I'm going to find out what the problem is.

Have a wonderful day!

My first Blog

Last night my son and his friend came over and helped me get my Blog started.  You have to forgive me but I know nothing about maintaining a blog, I just know that everyone that I come in contact with on different websites, has a blog.  I know that over time I will become more efficient and will be able to add and post things like the other ladies do.

I just want to share my projects with who ever is interested and just communicate with others that love crafting as much as I do.

So, if you visit my Blog, please be kind and patient while I go though this learning process.
